The Human Factors Centre is pleased to announce our first speaker for our Medical Device Usability Workshop which will be held next year in London. Our first Speaker, Dr Ian Culverhouse from Kinneir Dufort will be giving a presentation on the realities of conducting contextual inquiries for Medical Devices and leading an interactive panel discussion on designing longevity into medical mobile apps. An overview of each of the sessions Ian will be hosting can be found below.
Presentation: Realities of conducting contextual inquiries for Medical Devices
In this session Ian will discuss some of the challenges associated with conducting contextual inquiries for Medical Devices and give real-world examples of how he and his team overcame these challenges.
Panel discussion: Designing longevity into medical mobile apps
Ian will give a short presentation on the issues surrounding the development of medical device mobile apps and then pose a question to the group to discuss further. All panel discussions last 10 minutes with a 20 minute open floor discussion to follow each presentation.
Why should you attend?
Subject area is a key challenge and presents an enormous barrier to the release of many innovative medical devices. Discussion amongst industry is required to help recognise these barriers and address the issues as a collective force.
Our 2018 workshop event will be aimed at individuals working within medical device manufacturers, pharmaceutical companies, and healthcare start-ups. Our goal is to host an interactive event where practitioners can meet, network and share experiences.
The workshop will be held in London over the course of 1 day. The day will be made up of short presentations, discussions, and workshops aimed at providing experts with a number of opportunities and platforms to get their questions answered.
